Meditation - Symbols

Symbols can arrive spontaneously in meditation. Your inner self speaks in symbols. If a symbol comes to you, accept it as a message from within, attempt to discover what it's meaning is.

There are symbols that are found in all cultures and religions, they are from the deepest level of the collective unconscious.

The sun represents the power of the diety, whilst the moon stands for the infinite cycle of life, and death.

The tree is the axis linking the world with the world above.

Natural Symbols

Animals, birds and flowers also have there place in symbolism.

The lion can represent strength, and the dove can represent peace.

The lotus flower is a complex symbol, with it's flower rooted in muddy waters, reminding us of our connection with earth, while the petals opening heavenward symobilise the possibility of spiritual growth and enlightenment.

Some symbols and objects may have a personal meaning, only known to you.
