Meditation : Staying Grounded

There is no reason why meditating should make you unable to cope with everyday life. In fact, by bringing yourself into balance and learning to rise above your emotions you will be able to cope better.

Meditation also makes you more intuitive, a valuable asset.

it may take the form of inner promptings or just 'knowing' when something is going to happen.

You might be able to 'read' people better and know instinctively when someone is honest and sincere and when you should be cautious of a person or a situation.

These are positive results of meditation. However, meditating, like everything else, should be done in moderation.

If you meditate for excessively long periods of time you may start feeling 'spaced out' and detatched from reality.

Should you find this happening, reduce your meditation to just a few minutes a day.

Keeping a healthy balance in your life by incorperating pastimes of a physical nature such as exercise, sport or anything that keeps you in touch with your body.

Stay close to nature by gardening or walking in the country.

Make time for relaxation and being with friends and family. >/p>

Be sure that, at the end of each session, you bring yourself firmly back to your normal state of consciousness. Re-engage with the world, feeling calm and alert.
