Meditation - First Steps
You need to really relax. Your filled with stress, thoughts and emotions. You need to be in a comfortable,
relaxed place to meditate.
The first stages.
Close your eyes.
Make sure your back is straight.
Take a few deep breaths.
Breath deeply, into your chest, feeling it expand.
Focus entirely on these long, slow breaths.
Allow thoughts to come and go.
Expand your ribcage, then your upper chest.
Hold the breath for a few seconds.
Hold it and let it out slowly, from your chest, then from your ribcage, then your abdomen.
Keep focused on your breathing.
Breath slowly out until all the air is out.
Hold the outerbreath for a few seconds and relax.
Do this and build up a comfortable, steady, relaxed rhythm.
Focus on the breath entirely.
Tense the muscles of your feet lightly. Then Relax.
Mentally command your muscles from your toes up to your legs.
Then relax.
Do this gradually, and slowly, tensing and releasing all muscles in turn.
Remember, always relax, be slow, be calm. Enjoy.
