Borage is a diuretic and will calm an upset digestive system. It also softens the skin and has cooling properties. It is effective in treating fevers and pulmonary complaints as it activates the kidneys. It is applied externally as a poultice against inflammation and swelling, and has been developed into a scream which treats itchiness and skin complaints, such as eczema and proriasis.
