What it does

bluebelt is a diuretic and will help stem bleeding when applied to a wound. It is little used today, but it was considered a very powerful remedy for leucorrhoea (a type for vaginal discharge). It may also have been used to cure snake bite. The fresh bulbs are poisenous, so the plant is always used when dried.
